New LCP author Daniel P. Smith came into the office today just after his book, On the Job: Behind the Stars of the Chicago Police Department, arrived from the printer. Authors often get anxious in the production time between turning in the manuscript and seeing the final product, so they are always nervous and excited on publication day, but Daniel Smith was very happy with his book. And why wouldn't he be? It's an insightful collection of real stories about CPD officers trying to balance the challenges of their profession with their personal lives, edited and designed by the talented individuals on the Lake Claremont Press team. Thanks to everyone who worked on this book and thank you to the CPD officers who cooperated with Daniel Smith by sharing their stories and experiences.
